00 : 01:15 Our day trip begins with a drive out of the capital area along the beautiful waterfront towards the legendary castle of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The medieval town of Helsingor welcomes us with striking panoramic views of this once most powerful fortress of the Baltic Sea commanding trade and shipping of the region.
15 : 01:45 We will enjoy a short walk on the historically rich grounds. You will learn of the curious customs of the Kings from the past while getting the finest imaginable introduction to the world’s oldest monarchy.
45 : 02:15 Drive to the charming town of Hillerød
15 : 03:15 Inside visit to Frederiksborg Castle. The Renaissance style Castle, dating to early 17th century, has housed The Museum of National History since 1878. The endless rooms and halls filled with an unrivalled collection of the country´s most precious artifacts are as grandiose as the king, who built the castle. King Christian IV is the longest reigning monarch of Denmark to date.
15 : 04:00 Continue on foot and a stroll through the town center to enjoy some free time for a lunch break, shopping or some exploring on your own.
00 : 05:00 After a satisfying pause, we will return by bus to Copenhagen
00 : 07:00 Once in Copenhagen, we will seize the opportunity to take a short photo break by the most important sights of the town often referred to as Venice of the North. We will see the canals by the utterly charming harbor area of Nyhavn. Today called “The New Harbor”, the townhouses in a multitude of colors and cobbled streets add a fantastic atmosphere to a lively waterfront with old ships at the docks.

The itinerary will also include sights such as the noble Christiansborg PalaceTown Hall Square, unique Tivoli Gardens and Kongens Nytorv Square. A must-have visit, when in Copenhagen, we will leave as a treat towards the end of the tour: H.C. Andersen’s odalisqueThe Little Mermaidbeautifully resting at her home on the water's edge is a beautiful way to end our day’s travels and return to the cruise harbor.
