Oslo Private Walking Tour with Akershus Fortress
A walking tour around the Norwegian capital is the perfect way to discover the unique beauty of the Oslo fjord, state-of-the-art architecture and treasured historical sites in a Nordic city scape perfectly sized to be fully explored on foot.
We will take time to revel in the picturesque waterfront of the Oslo coast as well as the majestic atmosphere in the city center.
We will begin exploring this old Viking homeland with a visit to the outstanding 700-year-old Akershus Fortress crowning the seaside from up above. Thereafter we will step out from medieval setting towards the honorable Oslo Town Hall, a well-known venue as home to the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony [outside visit].
The next stop on our journey, a stunning seaside viewpoint on top of the National Opera & Ballet building showcases the cutting edge architecture of the town. We are able to spot the beautiful rugged nature at a distance one side and the royal presence on Karl Johan Gate on the other side. Our stroll down the main street takes us to the Parliament building, National Theatre and the University ensemble. Overlooking the splendor of historic town center is the residence for the present Norwegian monarch, the Royal Palace.
The unique charm of a wild Viking heritage, extraordinary natural setting and a modern city atmosphere gives plenty of food for thought for Oslo city visitors near and far.
